When I was 19 years old, I had the opportunity to purchase a condo in downtown Kirkland for $100,000. I immediately said no. I said no because no one explained the process of buying a home to me, what the monthly payments would look like if I’d even qualify for a mortgage, or how to even find out. I probably could have afforded it, and the payments would likely have been only slightly more than my monthly rent at the time. Even if the payments had been a little tight, knowing I would be investing in my future and building equity, I would presumably have been on board rather than paying someone else’s mortgage for many years to come. 

 

My ultimate goal is education. I want to ensure every person understands the process, whether they're buying or selling their first home or their fifth.
